SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's tennis team picked up a thrilling 4-3 victory over Campbell Friday afternoon at the Upstate tennis complex.

Due to strong wins, the match was delayed until 4:30 p.m. and the two teams played singles first, instead of the usual, doubles first.

The two teams battled to a 3-3 tie after the six singles matches.  Upstate (4-2) picked up victories at singles No. 1 (Matthias Kidler), No. 2 (Ramiro Blanco) and No. 4 (Gonzalo Blanco).

Upstate put itself in position for the win as Jacob Darling and Gonzalo Blanco picked up an 8-3 at doubles No. 3.

The Spartans dropped doubles No. 2, before claiming a thrilling 9-7 win at doubles No. 1.  Kidler/Ramiro Blanco won the doubles match and gave the Spartans the 4-3 win over former A-Sun foe Campbell.
