Reigning A-Sun Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week and Upstate standout goalkeeper Pat Regna has been chosen as a member of the Team of the Week for his exemplary performance last week.

Regna, a senior from Rochester, N.Y., turned in stellar performances last week in leading Upstate to back-to-back wins for the first time this season and the second in the NCAA Division I era. He tallied seven saves, five in the first half, and allowed only a penalty kick goal in the 3-1 win over Georgia Southern last Wednesday. He tallied a career-high 12 saves, five of which single-handedly saved the game for the Spartans with extraordinary diving and/or leaping saves, to lead the Spartans over Presbyterian by a 2-1 margin in overtime last Saturday. He finished the week with 19 saves and a 0.91 goals against average to earn a spot on's Team of the Week as well as weekly honors from the A-Sun.

Regna picked up his fourth career victory at Upstate with the wins and now has the most goalkeeper wins in Upstate's three seasons playing on the Division I level. He owns a career 2.20 goals against average with 104 saves in two seasons with the Spartans. Regna has played every second in goal this year for Upstate and is tied for third in the A-Sun with a 1.36 goals against average. He ranks second in the conference with 40 saves and an .800 save percentage.

Regna was's goalkeeper of the week and is joined on the team by Wake Forest's Anthony Arena (D), Maryland's Kevin Tangney (D), Portland's Ryan Kawulok (D), UCLA's Michael Nanchoff (M), Green Bay's David Prochazka (M), Stanford's Bobby Warshaw, Western Michigan's Saeed Sulemana Baba (F), Hartwick's Dan Summers and San Diego State's Raymundo Reza.
