Before Upstate: Was a standout on the Baltimore Lutheran HS boys' golf team... played the No. 1 position on the team... named the team Most Valuable Player his junior and senior years... finished fifth at the 2005 MIAA Championship... also had a standout junior golf career... competed on the International Junior Golf Tour... finished 10th at a tournament at Colleton River in South Carolina and 19th at Saddlebrook in Florida... finished eighth at the Mid-Atlantic Golf Association Junior Championship... was the individual medalist at the Walter Quick Memorial.

Personal: Born on Nov. 30, 1987 in Long Island, N.Y... son of Gary and Julia Hentz... has a sister, Lindsey... his father, Gary, played soccer at the Naval Academy.
