In the Round of 32, Walter Todd took a 3 & 2 victory over Hopper to advance to the Round of 16, eliminating Hopper from the championship. Jones Brown took a 4 & 3 victory over Comer to eliminate Comer and advance into the Round of 16. Sill, though, stood strong and took a 2-up victory over fellow Spartanburg native Will Ovenden. However, in the Round of 16, Sill fell, 3 & 1, to David Dannelly.
