Follow Gallman's progress in the Southern Amateur Championship
Orlando, Fla. - USC Upstate standout men's golfer Josh Gallman was solid enough through the first two rounds to make the cut by two strokes at the 102nd Southern Amateur Championship at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club Friday.
Second round play was suspended Thursday evening with several players left on the course. However, with the cut line projected at 2-over-par, Gallman was all but assured of a spot in the field for the weekend. He rallied to shoot 4-under-par on the back nine of his first round to post a 3-under 69 and followed that up with a 74 yesterday to take a 1-under-par total into the clubhouse.
Gallman, a rising junior from Gaffney, S.C., starts his third round today at 2:00 p.m.and will play with Chandler Cocco and Travis Woolf, all three with 143 totals. The three players are tied for 37th at 1-under for the tournament and are among the 67 individuals who made the cut for the weekend.
Check back later this evening for third round results.
