The things Torrey Craig can do for a basketball team are easy to see.

But what USC Upstate coach Eddie Payne loves about the sophomore from Great Falls is how much more is coming.

Craig's coming off an Atlantic Sun player of the week performance for the Spartans, but Payne thinks the best is to come for the 6-foot-6 forward.

"A lot of the things he's doing now, he was doing a year ago," Payne said. "But what I like is that he came in this year showing more of an interest in becoming a leader, and developing those qualities."

The soft-spoken Craig admits that's not a natural role for him, but he's trying to adapt, since the Spartans' roster contains just two juniors and two seniors among the 15 players.
