SPARTANBURG, S.C. – On Saturday morning members of the USC Upstate men's basketball squad volunteered their time as they worked with Food From The Heart ministries and helped collect food and other items for those in need.

Aside from helping collect food, the team helped box up all of the donations so they could be delivered to local rescue missions, food banks and soup kitchens.

"We really appreciate the participation from the Upstate basketball team," said Greg Wienstien, Director of Food From The Heart.  "They are fine young men and great representatives of Upstate and the basketball program."

Food From The Heart is a local mission outreach for several churches across the country, taking the stealer of hope and unifying hundreds of people to give back to those who are in need.  Through acts of service in faith, we have become a surgical strike team sent out to destroy hunger.

The primary mission of Food From The Heart is to provide support to the local Rescue Missions, Outreaches, Food Banks and Soup Kitchens who are already positioned to give a hand up, not a hand out to individuals and families that have fallen on hard times and are in need of a sign of hope.
