SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the first time in his career, USC Upstate sophomore pitcher David Roseboom (Pattersonville, N.Y.) has been named the Atlantic Sun's Pitcher of the Week, the conference office in Macon, Ga., announced today.

Roseboom improved to 5-0 as he tossed seven shutout innings in the series opener against Florida Gulf Coast (Mar. 30).  His five wins lead the Spartans (21-7, 7-2) and he is tied for second in the A-Sun.

During his 107-pitch outing, the southpaw surrendered just five hits and one walk, while tying a career-mark with six strikeouts as the Spartans picked up win number 20 of the season.

Roseboom is the second Spartan to earn A-Sun Pitcher of the Week honors this season.  Brandon Lee earned the nod after tossing a complete game shutout against Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 26).

Upstate returns to the diamond tomorrow night as it hosts Davidson at 6 p.m., to conclude a six-game homestand.
