Ikenegbu Selected Big South Volleyball Player of the Week

Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate junior middle blocker Gloria Ikenegbu was honored by the Big South Conference on Monday afternoon garnering Volleyball Player of the Week recognition following her performance in matches played Oct. 29-Nov. 4.

Ikenegbu receives her second Big South Volleyball Player of the Week honor this season after also earning the accolade on Oct. 22.

The Anderson, S.C. native helped lead USC Upstate to a 2-0 record last week with 30 kills (3.75 per set), a .390 hitting percentage, 10 blocks (1.25 per set) and 36.5 points (4.56 per set) against Campbell and Hampton.

In a five-set victory against Campbell last Friday, she had a career-high 21 kills with a .357 hitting percentage and seven blocks. Ikenegbu then followed that up on Saturday with a .471 hitting percentage on nine kills and three blocks, this time in a 3-0 sweep over Hampton in the Spartans final home match of the season.
