Armani Signs with USC Upstate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate head women's Tennis coach Tim McLane has announced the singing of Roberta Armani out of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

"We're very excited to have Roberta joining us in the fall," McLane said. "She has an all-court game that is going to translate nicely to the college game. She's also a solid doubles player with a good amount of experience which will help our lineup. And she's a good student as well, which is always something we look for in our recruits. Roberta is going to be a great addition to our growing program here at USC Upstate and she has a bright future ahead of her."

A graduate of Colegio Anglo Americano, Armani currently has a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 7.91 in singles play and an 8.56 in doubles competition. In September 2018, Armani reached her highest UTR rating ever in singles play with an 8.55. Currently Armani is ranked 1011 in the International Tennis Federation Junior world rankings (ITF) and has reached as high as 765 in the world as of April 2019.

In February of this year, Armani made it the second round of singles action in the Grade B1 tournament in Sao Paulo. In the same tournament she made it to the Round of 16 in doubles competition. In February 2018, Armani advanced to the second round of singles play in the Grade 4 Florianopolis Tournament and the Quarterfinals Round of doubles action. Armani also made a Quarterfinals appearance in doubles action in October of 2018 at the Grade 4 Itajai Tournament. In July 2018 Armani made it all the way to the doubles Semifinals Round at the Grade 5 Curitiba Tournament.
