Spartans Unable to Win on the Road

RADFORD, Va. – For the second consecutive day the USC Upstate women's tennis team was shutout by a conference opponent, Radford defeated USC Upstate 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon, breaking a recent losing skid of their own.

With the loss the Spartans fall to 1-16 overall on the season and they remain winless in Big South play at 0-6. Radford improves to 9-8 overall and 4-4 in Big South competition.

USC Upstate lost the doubles after falling at both the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles courts. Elin Hellberg and Ana Boza battled to the very end on both the No. 3 and No. 6 singles courts. Unfortunately, both players ended up losing in the third set. The Spartans lost in straight sets on court No. 1, 2, 4 and 5 this afternoon.

The USC Upstate women's tennis team will be back in action this Friday afternoon with a trip to Charlotte. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
