Spartans Fall to Stetson

Spartanburg, S.C.Carol Sigaki and Vale Zarama earned a doubles win but the USC Upstate women's tennis team was defeated by Stetson 7-0 in ASUN Conference action on Thursday morning. 

Stetson improves to 9-6 overall and 1-1 in ASUN Conference play while USC Upstate drops to 1-13 and 0-2. 

Sigaki and Zarama teamed up to win their fifth doubles match of the season as the defeated Lucie Renault and Brooke Milner 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. The Hatters claimed the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches to clinch the doubles point. 

Sigaki battled Arijana Korac at No. 1 singles before Korac claimed a 6-3, 7-6 (3-0) win. Gabriela Cevallos dropped her match at #5 singles 6-1, 7-6 to Milner.
