Spartanburg, S.C. – With seedings for the Atlantic Sun Tournament still left to be decided, the USC Upstate women's tennis team puts the finishing touches on the regular season by hosting Mercer Friday at 10 a.m. and Kennesaw State Saturday at 10 a.m. from the USC Upstate Tennis Complex.
"We are excited to host both Mercer and Kennesaw State in our final two home matches of the year," Trittenwein said. "This is a very special match because it will be the last time we face Mercer as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference. It's also special because our two seniors will be participating in their last home match, and I am sure they want to leave a lasting impression on the Upstate fans. Finally, the outcomes of these matches have postseason implications and will determine whether or not we qualify for one of the six spots in the A-Sun Tournament."
Junior Isabel von Stryk enters the final weekend of the season with a team-leading 10 singles victories to her credit, which includes an 8-4 mark from the No. 1 position. Freshman Anna Zoske stands second on the team with six wins in singles play.
Rojas and Cohen have been the top doubles combo for Upstate for the majority of the season, posting a 4-5 record playing from either the No. 1 or No. 2 position.
Mercer has lost three of its last four matches and arrives in Spartanburg in fifth place in the league standings with a 3-3 record in conference.
Kennesaw State lost its sixth straight match following a 6-1 setback April 4 at North Florida. The Owls currently sit tied with Upstate for seventh place with two matches remaining.
