Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate softball team will carry its 21-game A-Sun winning streak into the River City for a three-game conference series at Jacksonville Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1 p.m., as does Sunday's single game.

Upstate opened A-Sun play last weekend and swept the series at Kennesaw State by scores of 16-3, 8-2 and 10-1. The Spartans went on a power attack, belting 10 home runs to down the Owls and open an early lead in the conference standings with a 3-0 record. The last time Upstate lost in the A-Sun was in the series finale at Stetson last year on March 12. The Spartans rattled off 18 consecutive wins to close the season. The Spartans improved to 19-4 overall with a doubleheader sweep at ETSU Tuesday.

Jacksonville enters the weekend with a 17-14 overall record and will open A-Sun play against Upstate this weekend. The Dolphins are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Monmouth on Wednesday after dropping three straight against Samford over the weekend. Upstate owns an 11-5 lead in the all-time series with Jacksonville and has won the last five meetings and six of the last seven.

Upstate is on a bit of a power streak. The Spartans have hit a home run in each of the last five games, belting 10 in the three-game series at Kennesaw State and four at ETSU. Shellie Robinson and Cheyenne Griffin top the team with 10 dingers apiece.
