Upstate Renews Rivalry with North Florida

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate softball team will travel to the River City for a three-game A-Sun series at North Florida Saturday and Sunday at the UNF Softball Complex in Jacksonville, Fla. The series will pit the defending A-Sun Tournament champions Upstate against the defending regular season champions UNF.

Upstate enters the series with a 23-4 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the A-Sun after going 1-2 at Stetson Tuesday and Wednesday. UNF enters the series with a 17-8 overall record and a 2-4 mark in the A-Sun. The Ospreys split a non-conference doubleheader against Bowling Green on Tuesday and went 1-2 against Kennesaw State in their last A-Sun series.

Upstate and UNF have played 34 times in the history of the series, dating back to when both schools were members of the Peach Belt Conference in NCAA Division II. The Spartans own an 18-16 lead in the all-time series and have won 12 of 14 since moving to Division I in 2008.
