Women’s Soccer Preview:  at Radford

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's soccer team hits the road for the first time in nearly two weeks on Saturday evening traveling to Radford, Va. to face the Radford Highlanders in Big South play at 7 p.m. from Patrick D. Cupp Memorial Stadium.

USC Upstate (8-6, 3-3 Big South) closed out non-conference play on Tuesday evening scoring a season-high six goals en route to defeating South Carolina State 6-1 at County University Soccer Stadium. Abbie Ellis registered her fourth multi-goal game of the season, and third in the last four games, leading the Spartans offensively with two goals on four shots. Jada Kinlaw scored her sixth goal of the season while Isabella Burns contributed her fifth goal and third assist. Kate Winegarner and Madison Pollard each scored their first goals of the season. Logan Pace earned her first collegiate win in goal after finishing with one save. 

Ellis is currently first in the Big South this season in points (27) and goals (12) while adding three assists. Nine different Spartans have scored at least one goal this year. Madison McNally has contributed 14 saves while Pace has a 1.35 GAA. 

Radford enters the match with a 9-2-1 overall record and 5-1 conference mark following a 2-0 win against Hampton on Wednesday evening. Jessica Wollmann leads the Highlanders with 18 points on eight goals and two assists. Courtenay Kaplan leads the team with 46 saves, a 1.39 GAA and .780 save percentage. Radford is under the direction of 23rd-year head coach Ben Sohrabi.
