Women’s Soccer Preview:  at Wofford

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's soccer team remains in Spartanburg on Friday evening as it makes the short trip to Wofford for a 7 p.m. kickoff against the Terriers at Snyder Field.

USC Upstate returns to the field for the first time since Sunday afternoon when it defeated Delaware State 4-1 at County University Soccer Stadium. Jada Kinlaw recorded her second multi-goal game in the last four outings and was one of three players to score in the victory. The Spartans attempted a season-high 24 shots. Abbie Ellis and Isabella Burns both scored while Emelie Valenciano and Kayla Dean both had one assist. Samantha Munyon grabbed four saves in goal.

Ellis currently leads the Big South this season with a team-high 13 points on five goals and three assists. She ranks tied for first in the conference in goals and second in assists. Kinlaw is tied for third in both points and goals while Burns is tied for fifth in points and goals. Munyon has a compiled a 0.83 GAA to sit second in the conference and is third with a .808 save percentage.

Wofford is 1-4-1 on the season after falling 3-0 to Clemson on Sunday evening. Dani Segovia leads the team offensively with four points on two goals while three different players have dished out one assist. Mayson Liner has made four starts in goal while Maria Mon has 17 saves and a 1.56 GAA. The Terriers are under the direction of interim head coach Eric Lewis.

USC Upstate is facing Wofford for the eighth time in program history.

The Spartans are off until Saturday, Sept. 15 when they open conference play on the road against Campbell at 7 p.m.
