Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's soccer team will play the first of two road matches to close out the 2017 season on Tuesday as the Spartans travel to Jacksonville University to face the Dolphins at 4 p.m.
Tuesday's game was originally scheduled to be played on Oct. 1 but heavy rain and unplayable field conditions forced that match to be postponed.
Upstate is 6-8-1 overall and 1-3-1 in ASUN Conference play following a 3-2 loss to Lipscomb at County University Soccer Stadium on Saturday. Abbie Ellis scored two goals in the match but saw the Bisons score two goals to erase Upstate's 2-1 advantage.
Brooke Bailey is second in the ASUN with 56 saves. Ellis is tied for fourth in the conference with 13 points and is fifth in the league with five goals. As a team, Upstate is second in the league with 26 goals, third with 15 assists and sixth with 181 shots.
Jacksonville is 3-9 overall and 1-4-0 in league play following a 5-0 home loss to Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday. The Dolphins were outshot 25-4. Sope Akindoju leads the Dolphins with four goals while Joelle D'Entremont and Danielle Henry have two goals each. Britany Hundley is third in the ASUN with 52 saves.
Jacksonville leads the all-time series 8-1-1 following a 0-0 tie in 2016.
