Spartanburg, S.C. – A three-match homestand for the USC Upstate women's soccer team will conclude Saturday as the Spartans host Lipscomb at 1 p.m. Upstate will honor seniors Brooke Bailey, Tori Brown, Jade Hudson, Nicki Krejci, Emma Safranek and Ashley Wright prior to the match.
The Spartans are 6-7-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the ASUN following a 4-1 loss to Stetson on Oct. 6 and a 3-1 setback against Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday. Emelie Valenciano scored her third goal of the year on Friday while Isabella Burns tallied her second goal of the season on Sunday. Abbie Ellis had the assist on both goals and is currently tied for fourth in the conference with three helpers.
Lipscomb is 6-5-3 overall and 3-0-1 in league play after victories over North Florida and Jacksonville last weekend. Ellen Lundy is the reigning ASUN Player of the Week after scoring two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, against Jacksonville on Sunday. Lundy leads the team in goals (six), points (12) and shots (25).
The Bisons lead the all-time series 7-3 and have won the last four meetings following a 6-0 win last year in Nashville.
