Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's soccer team will conclude its four-match stretch against Big South Conference members as the Spartans travel to UNC Asheville on Saturday and Gardner-Webb on Monday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Upstate is 3-4-0 following a 2-0 win at Presbyterian College on Wednesday. After a scoreless opening half, Erin Wright scored her second goal of the season in the 69th minute to get the Spartans on the board. Jada Kinlaw tallied her first goal of the year in the 89th minute. Making her Upstate debut, Samantha Munyon made four saves in goal for Upstate's second shutout of the year.
UNC Asheville is 3-3-1 following a 2-1 loss at Elon on Thursday. The Bulldogs have wins over VMI, Wofford and Jacksonville with losses to North Florida, Kennesaw State and Elon. UNC Asheville is led by Courtney Nabor's four goals and 22 shots on the year. Caroline Houser leads the team with four assists. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 5-0 thanks to a 2-0 win over Upstate last year.
Gardner-Webb is 1-7-0 after a 4-0 defeat at Louisville last night. The Runnin' Bulldogs have had four players score one goal each. Gardner-Webb leads the all-time series 9-1-1 after the teams played to a scoreless draw last year.
