Spartanburg, S.C. – After opening the 2017-18 ASUN schedule with a win at NJIT, the USC Upstate women's basketball team will head to Florida this week to face Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast.
Upstate and Stetson will battle at 1 p.m. Saturday with the road trip coming to a close with a 7 p.m. tip-off Monday at FGCU.
Upstate is 6-10 following a 95-57 win at NJIT last Saturday. A'Lexxus Davis and Riley Popplewell each tied career-highs with 17 points each. Morgan Williams finished with 14 points followed by Anda Kuzmina with 13. The Spartans set a new team record for points in an ASUN Conference game with 95.
Stetson is 9-8 following an 80-40 loss at Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday. Brittney Chambers leads the team with 16.2 points per game followed by Kennedi Colclough with 13.0 and McKenna Beach with 12.4. Colclough is the top rebounder with 6.8 rebounds per game.
Florida Gulf Coast is 15-3 following its win over Stetson to open ASUN play. The Eagles are led by Rosemarie Julien, who is averaging 12.8 points per game. Taylor Gradinjan and Nasrin Ulel are also averaging double figures at 10.2 and 10.1 points per game, respectively. Tytionia Adderly is the leading rebounder with 8.8 rebounds per contest.
Stetson has won the last three matchups against Upstate to claim a 16-6 series lead. Florida Gulf Coast leads the all-time series 17-2.
