Men’s Tennis Preview:  vs. North Dakota

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's tennis team continues a 10-match road trip on Wednesday morning as it makes a stop in DeLand, Fla. for a 9:30 a.m. match against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks.

USC Upstate (1-7) dropped a 4-1 non-conference decision at Mercer on Monday afternoon. Francisco Neto captured his third singles win of the season earning a straight set victory playing at No. 2. Lucas Percy, competing at No. 3, sent his match into the third set.

Fernando Bernardes leads the Spartans in singles competition this season compiling a 5-1 record highlighted by two wins each at No. 3 and No. 4. He also has one win at No. 5. In doubles action, three different combinations have won two matches apiece.

North Dakota (5-6) is coming off a 7-0 loss at Stetson on Sunday afternoon. The Fighting Hawks were facing Samford today in Orlando, Fla. UND is under the direction on 28th-year head coach Tom Wynne.
