Men’s Tennis Preview:  at Davidson Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's tennis team opens its fall season this weekend as the Spartans head to Davidson, N.C. for the Davidson Invitational at Davidson Tennis Courts.

USC Upstate will be competing at the Davidson Invitational along with Davidson, Queens and Appalachian State.

Competing for the Spartans this weekend will be Ankush Arora, Fernando Bernardes, Luka Eble, Francisco Neto, Lucas Percy, Tom Russwurm and Samuel Schiano.

Play begins on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. and concludes on Sunday afternoon. The event will be a flighted individual format with eight singles flights and four doubles flights.

The invitational is a points system, with points being determined based on position. The No. 1 singles position is worth 16 points and going two points down at each position to No. 8, which is worth two points. The top doubles spot is worth eight points, then going down to No. 4, which is worth two.

USC Upstate travels to Macon, Ga. next weekend, Oct. 5-7, for the Mercer Gridiron Classic.
