Restrepo Signs Professional Contract with Arsenal F.C. Roatan

Spartanburg, S.C. – Former USC Upstate goalkeeper Santiago Restrepo recently signed a professional contract to play for Arsenal F.C. Roatan in Honduras.

Arsenal F.C. Roatan currently plays in the Zona Norte-Occidente Group A as part of Liga de Ascenso. The club is based in Roatán, Honduras.

Restrepo previously played for Kaw Valley FC of USL PDL, joining the club for its inaugural season in 2018. The Greenville, S.C. native appeared in seven games for Kaw Valley recording a 1.33 GAA and .724 save percentage. He logged 540 minutes and registered 21 saves while giving up eight goals. Restrepo grabbed a season-high 10 saves in his final appearance as Kaw Valley defeated WSA Winnipeg 4-2.

He made 14 total appearances and 13 starts in his four seasons as a Spartan. After not playing the first two seasons in 2014 and 2015, Restrepo made seven starts as a junior in 2016 playing nearly 600 minutes. He recorded one shutout in his first collegiate start as USC Upstate defeated Presbyterian College 1-0 to begin that season. He also added 28 saves, a 1.95 GAA and .683 save percentage. Last season, Restrepo started all six games he appeared in and made 19 saves. He allowed 11 goals for a 1.87 GAA and contributed a .633 save percentage.

Restrepo will make his league debut with Arsenal F.C. on August 15.
