Men’s Golf Preview:  at Bandon Dunes Championship

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's golf team makes its longest trip of the season traveling to Bandon, Ore. for the Bandon Dunes Championship March 10-12 hosted by Gonzaga from the par 72, 6954-yard Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

The Bandon Dunes Championship is a 54-hole tournament played over the course of three days and includes nine schools ranked in the top-100 of the latest Golfstat rankings.

USC Upstate is one of 17 teams competing in the tournament along with Gonzaga, Boise State, Denver, Fresno State, Idaho, N.C. State, Cal State Northridge, Ohio State, Oregon, Oregon State, San Jose State, SMU, UNC Wilmington, Utah, Utah Valley and Washington State.

The Spartans are sending out a five player lineup consisting of Jordan Warnock, Matt Carter, Reid Bedell, Hunter Fry and Sun Paripunna.

USC Upstate is back on the course for the first time since February 4-5 when it opened its spring season finishing in 11th place at the Sea Best Invitational. The Spartans carded a season-low score of 281 in the final round highlighted by rounds of 69 from Warnock, Bedell and Carter. Warnock led USC Upstate individually finishing in a tie for 13th place.

The Spartans concluded the tournament third in par 3 scoring while Warnock led the field in pars.

USC Upstate makes the short trip to Greenville, S.C. on March 22-24 to compete at the Furman Intercollegiate from the Furman Golf Club.
