Men’s Golf Preview:  at Sea Best Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's golf team begins its 2019 spring season February 4-5 traveling to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. to compete in the Sea Best Invitational hosted by Jacksonville from the par 70, 6873-yard TPC Sawgrass – Dye's Valley Course.

The 54-hole tournament begins on Monday morning at 8 a.m. and will conclude on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. tee time.

USC Upstate is one of 14 teams competing in the tournament along with Jacksonville, Arkansas, Campbell, East Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Liberty, Lipscomb, McNeese State, North Carolina, N.C. State, North Florida and UNLV.

The Spartans are sending out a five-player lineup consisting of Jordan Warnock, Matt Carter, Reid Bedell, Hunter Fry and Sun Paripunna.

USC Upstate closed out its fall season November 4-6 finishing in fourth place at the East Bay Deli Classic. The Spartans were led individually by Carter, who enters the week ranked 164th nationally by Golfstat, with a fourth place performance and a total score of 211. Carter recorded his third top-10 finish of the season with rounds of 71-71-69. He led the tournament in par 3 scoring while ranking second in birdies.

USC Upstate was second among the tournament field in par 4 scoring and birdies while sitting third in eagles.

The Spartans are off until March 10-12 traveling to Bandon, Ore. for the Bandon Dunes Championship.
