Men’s Basketball Preview:  at Campbell

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's basketball team hits the road in Big South action on Saturday afternoon as the Spartans travel to Buies Creek, N.C. for a 4:30 p.m. tipoff against the Campbell Camels from Gore Arena.

USC Upstate (6-19, 1-9 Big South) is back in action for the first time since last Saturday when it fell 90-71 at home to Charleston Southern. Malik Moore scored a game-high 27 points, his 17th career game with at least 20, and grabbed nine rebounds to lead four Spartans in double-figures. Brandon Martin came off the bench to score 13 points while Everette Hammond had 11 and Deion Holmes 10. Jure Span also dished out six assists.

USC Upstate concluded the game shooting 44.4 percent from the field and went 10-for-12 at the free throw line. The Spartans held a 44-38 advantage in points in the paint and 12-10 in fast break points.

Moore leads USC Upstate this season with 16.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Holmes contributes 14.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while Span dishes out 3.3 assists per game.

Campbell (13-10, 6-3 Big South) is coming off a 57-56 loss at High Point on Thursday evening. Chris Clemons leads the nation in scoring with 29.0 points per game while Andrew Eudy adds 11.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest. The Camels are under the direction of sixth-year head coach Kevin McGeehan.

The Spartans are facing Campbell for the 11th time in program history with the Camels leading the all-time series 6-4.
