Moore Tabbed Big South Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate senior forward Malik Moore was honored by the Big South Conference on Monday afternoon as the Men's Basketball Player of the Week following his performance in two games last week against Eastern Kentucky and No. 25 Furman.

Moore averaged a double-double of 28.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game to lead USC Upstate. He recorded double-doubles in both games while shooting 60.6 percent (20-of-33) from the field and connecting on 50.0 percent (6-of-12) of his 3-pointers.

He began the week scoring a career-high 32 points at Eastern Kentucky on Dec. 5 and grabbed 10 rebounds. Moore followed that performance on Dec. 8 against 25th-ranked Furman with 24 points and 11 rebounds. The Asheville, N.C. native went 12-for-16 shooting versus Eastern Kentucky and 4-of-7 behind the 3-point line.

It is the first career weekly honor for Moore.
