Spartan Men’s Basketball Unveils 2018-19 Non-Conference Schedule

Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate head men's basketball coach Dave Dickerson announced this afternoon that the Spartans will play a total of 15 non-conference games for the upcoming 2018-19 campaign.

USC Upstate opens its season with five of its first six games away from Spartanburg beginning with the opener on Nov. 6 at South Carolina. The Spartans follow four days later on Nov. 10 with their home opener against Brevard.

"I am excited to announce our non-conference schedule for the 2018-19 season," said Dickerson. "Our players and coaches can't wait to get the season started as we face 15 challenging opponents starting on Nov. 6 at South Carolina. These games will help prepare us leading into conference play. I look forward to moving the program Up in the right direction."

Following the home opener, USC Upstate hits the road for four consecutive games including three at the Classic at Portland. The Spartans begin their road trip on Nov. 14 at VMI and are scheduled to play Portland (Nov. 21), Texas State (Nov. 23) and Cal Poly (Nov. 24) at the Classic at Portland. USC Upstate closes out the month of November at home with a non-conference game against Gardner-Webb on Nov. 28.

The Spartans then start the month of December on the road for two games versus Western Michigan (Dec. 1) and Eastern Kentucky (Dec. 5). USC Upstate closes out non-conference play with four of its final six games at home starting with three straight against Furman (Dec. 8), South Carolina State (Dec. 15) and Truett-McConnell (Dec. 19).

Two of the last three games come on the road against Power 5 schools in N.C. State (Dec. 22) and Georgia Tech (Jan. 2). The final non-conference home game is scheduled for Dec. 29 against Coker.
