Upstate Back in Action Tuesday on the Road at Kansas State

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's basketball team returns to action on Tuesday evening in the midst of a season-long eight-game road trip, traveling to Kansas State for an 8 p.m. showdown with the Wildcats at Bramlage Coliseum.

The Spartans currently sit at 3-7 on the season after dropping an 87-66 decision at Gardner-Webb last Saturday. Malik Moore and Jure Span combined for 22 points as Moore led Upstate with 12 and Span added 10. Carson Smith and Thomas Booker each set new career-highs in scoring as a Spartan with nine points. Upstate held a 13-10 advantage in points off turnovers and 27-25 in bench points.

Kansas State enters the midweek matchup with a 7-1 overall record after posting wins over Missouri State, Fort Hays State, Emporia State, American, UMKC, UC Irvine, Northern Arizona, George Washington and Vanderbilt. Kamau Stokes leads the Wildcats offensively with 15.1 points per game while Dean Wade contributes a team-leading 6.6 rebounds per contest. Kansas State is under the direction of seventh-year head coach Bruce Weber.

Tuesday's game is the second all-time meeting between the schools. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 1-0 after defeating the Spartans 72-53 on Dec. 2, 2012.
