Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate baseball team returns home after a pair of midweek road games to host La Salle Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. to begin a three-game weekend series from Harley Park.

The Spartans will play the remainder of the series Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Upstate (6-8) enters the weekend coming off a loss Tuesday at Furman and a victory Wednesday at Gardner-Webb. Stephen Dowling delivered a pair of RBI hits late in the game to break a 5-5 tie and propel Upstate to its first road win of the season.

Senior right fielder Tyler Lesch went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases against the Bulldogs and ranks fifth in the Atlantic Sun in hitting with a .375 batting average. The St. Cloud, Fla., native is also tied for second in the league with 21 hits.

Zach Krider finished 2-for5 with one RBI Wednesday and is now tied for third in the conference with 12 RBIs.

La Salle dropped its fifth consecutive game when the Explorers fell 10-2 Wednesday at Tennessee. La Salle enters the series with a 1-11 overall record.
