Cross Country Preview:  at Big South Championship

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate cross country team will travel to Kernersville, N.C. on Friday morning to compete in the Big South Cross Country Championship hosted by High Point from the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex. This will be the first-ever Big South Championship competition for the Spartans. 

The women's 5k race will start at 10:30 a.m. followed by the men's 8k at 11:30 a.m. The awards ceremony will follow at 12:30 p.m. The meet is free to spectators.

USC Upstate returns to action for the first time since Oct. 12 when it competed at the Royals Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, N.C. A total of 17 season-best times were recorded by the Spartans including nine from the men and eight by the women. Krysta Pierstorff was the top performer for the women's team after recording a 75th place finish with a time of 18:55. Andrew Castano turned in the best time for the men finishing in 78th position following a time of 25:33.

USC Upstate travels to Rock Hill, S.C. on Friday, Nov. 9 for the NCAA Southeast Regionals.
