SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the second consecutive weekend the USC Upstate indoor track and field team will be competing in a two day event, this weekend the Spartans are participating in the Liberty Kickoff located in Lynchburg, Va.
Last weekend, the Spartans track and field team had two victories and nine top-five finishes at the Gamecock Inaugural. On top of that 30 different USC Upstate track and field athletes set personal records in their respective event. Sophomore jumper Adanma Uzor earned Big South Field Athlete of the Week after having two top-five finishes.
Friday's events will begin at 12:30 p.m., but the Spartans first event will not be until the women's weight throw at 4:30 p.m. The men's 4x800 meter relay will begin approximately an hour later at 5:30 p.m. Friday night's activities conclude with the men's and women's 5000 meter run.
Saturday's events will be begin bright and early with the men's weight throw starting at 9:00 a.m. The Spartans will have participants in almost every event on Saturday. USC Upstate is competing against a variety of school from the Division I, Division II and Division III levels.
