Spartanburg, S.C. – It will be a home meet of sorts for the USC Upstate track & field teams this weekend as the Spartans travel across town to compete in the Terrier Relays at Spartanburg High School.
The meet begins with the hammer throw and shot put at the USC Upstate Throws Facility at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Saturday's action at SHS begins with the men's 5,000-meter run at 9 a.m. with field events beginning at 10 a.m. with the women's javelin. Admission to the meet is free.
The meet is the third of the outdoor season for USC Upstate. At the Weems Baskin Invitational in Columbia, S.C. last weekend, Terry Newell lowered his school record in the 100-meter dash to 10.68. Adanma Uzor finished in second place in the triple jump invitational division and also recorded a runner-up finish long jump open division. Jaquille Mosley finished in sixth place in the open division of the javelin throw.
