Spartanburg, S.C. –The USC Upstate indoor track & field teams will return to Johnson City, Tenn. this weekend at the Buccaneer Invitational as the Spartans compete in their final tune-up meet prior to the ASUN Championships.
The meet begins on Friday at 10:30 a.m. with the women's 60-meter hurdle preliminaries and is scheduled to conclude at 7:15 p.m. with the men's 5,000-meter run. Saturday's action begins at 9 a.m. with the women's 3,000-meter run.
Tony Auguste was named the ASUN Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday after he finished in the top five in the shot put and weight throw at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness on Sunday.
Sarah Hill claimed first place in the women's 60-meter dash and was the runner-up in the women's 200-meter dash. Noah Walker (men's 60-meter hurdles), Dorian Jones (men's 800-meter run), Ari Jahanfar (men's triple jump) and Tanner Saunders (men's 400-meter dash) each finished in second place in their respective events. Breondra Steele finished in third in the women's high jump.
In USC Upstate's first visit to the MSHA Athletic Center on Jan. 13-14, Terry Newell set school records in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash with Adanma Uzor posting a new school record in the women's triple jump.

The Spartans are off next week before competing in the ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 16-17 in Lynchburg, Va.
