Heidi Gibbs Hicks is the sixth person affiliated with the softball program to be inducted into the Upstate Athletics Hall of Fame.

Gibbs, who is from Florence, South Carolina, was a member of the Spartan softball team from 2006-09 as an outfielder.

In the final two seasons for Upstate at the NCAA Division II level, Gibbs was a member of the Peach Belt All-Conference team and the Presidential Academic Honor Roll. She was named an All-American during the Spartans' final Division II season in 2007. During the program's first season at the Division I level in 2008, Gibbs helped lead the team to a share of the Atlantic Sun Conference Regular Season Championship. She was an All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection in 2008 and a two-time Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team member.

Gibbs is the all-time leader at Upstate in doubles with 58 and ranks in the top ten all-time in at-bats, hits, games played, games started, hit by pitches, stolen bases, stolen base attempts, runs scored, total bases, walks, on-base percentage, batting average and runs batted in. She is also the single season record holder in doubles in a season and has the second and third-most hits in a season.

Gibbs graduated from USC Upstate in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Journalism. She currently works at Physician Practice Solutions and handles the medical billing.

She and her husband, Will, have two children:  Bryson and Rylee.
