USC Upstate SAAC Holds Prom for McCarthy Teszler School

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently hosted Prom Night for the McCarthy Teszler School in the USC Upstate Campus Life Center Ballroom.

USC Upstate had eight student-athletes attend the dinner-dance with students from the McCarthy Teszler School. The eight student-athletes were Rylie Parkhurst (women's basketball), Riley Popplewell (women's basketball), Barrett Herring (women's basketball), Courtney Cranmer (women's soccer), Emma Honis (women's soccer), Dylan Herb (volleyball), McKenna Kirkpatrick (volleyball) and Nevin Zink (men's basketball).

"SAAC considers helping the McCarthy Teszler prom as one of its signature events of the year. The student-athletes are proud of our commitment to the school and especially enjoy taking part in the prom," said Dr. Jim Griffis, USC Upstate Faculty Athletics Representative.

This marks the fifth year that USC Upstate SAAC has hosted prom for the McCarthy Teszler School. The McCarthy Teszler School provides services to students with disabilities from all school districts in Spartanburg Country.
