Eversgerd, Koelling Selected to The Spartanburg Courtyard Classic All-Tournament Team

Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate junior Kayla Eversgerd and sophomore Emily Koelling were voted as the team's representatives on The Spartanburg Courtyard Classic All-Tournament Team, it was announced earlier this evening.

The duo contributed both offensively and defensively as Upstate went 3-1 on the weekend with victories over host Wofford, Tennessee Tech and North Carolina A&T. Eversgerd led the team with 51 kills to finish second in that category for the tournament. She was also fourth in digs with 69. Eversgerd averaged 3.19 kills and 4.31 digs per set. She had a double-double in all four matches highlighted by 15 kills against North Carolina A&T and 20 digs versus Wofford.

Koelling had a team-best 14 total blocks over the weekend to tie for third individually among the five teams. She was also fifth in hitting percentage after posting a mark of .256. Koelling had the fourth-most kills for the Spartans as she recorded 31 including nine in the four-set victory over Tennessee Tech. She collected four blocks each on the first day of competition against Gardner-Webb and Wofford.
