Spartans Open A-Sun Play at Kennesaw State, Mercer

Complete Release in PDF Format

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate volleyball team will open the A-Sun portion of its schedule on the road this weekend when it travels to Kennesaw State and Mercer Friday and Saturday.

Upstate will take on Kennesaw State Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in the KSU Convocation Center before making the short trip to Macon, Ga., to take on Mercer Saturday afternoon at 3:00 in Hawkins Arena. This weekend is the opening weekend for the majority of the A-Sun.

Upstate (0-8) will look to build upon solid performances in its last three matches, close losses to Central Michigan, Hofstra and Princeton in the Hofstra Invitational last weekend in Hempstead, N.Y. Despite the losses, Upstate played tough and continued to gel as a unit which has seen the return of veterans Morgan Page (last week) and Amanda Carroll (two weeks ago) to the floor. Kennesaw State enters Friday with a 5-5 record, while Mercer enters the weekend 1-9.
