Fort Myers, Fla. – USC Upstate sophomore Carol Sigaki claimed a pair of awards on Thursday as the ASUN Conference announced its women's tennis postseason honors. The Sao Paulo, Brazil native was named to the All-Academic Team and also picked up Second Team All-Conference honors.
Sigaki is the fourth Upstate player to be named to the All-Academic Team, joining Julie Bell (2013), Isabel von Stryk (2015) and Anna Zoske (2016). She is a Business major with a 4.0 GPA.
Sigaki earned Second Team All-Conference recognition at No. 2 singles after going 7-4 on the season and 3-3 in conference play. She recorded conference wins over Kennesaw State, Stetson and NJIT. Sigaki tied for the team lead with eight singles wins on the season and is the first player to be named to the All-Conference Team since von Stryk in 2014.
