Spartanburg, S.C. – Isabel von Stryk, Anna Zoske and Nona Ruppert each qualified for the finals in their respective draws on Saturday to highlight competition on the second day of the USC Upstate Fall Classic from the USC Upstate Tennis Complex.
Zoske and von Stryk advanced to the finals of the doubles white draw following an 8-2 victory over No. 3 seed Greer Ramson and Claire-Mitchell Andrews of Presbyterian. The Upstate duo will face fourth-seeded Kaylene Chadwell and Kelsey Coots of Chattanooga Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
In singles action, von Stryk dropped her opening match of the day to Jayde Viccars of ETSU, but rebounded for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over No. 3 seed Catherin Martin of Wofford in the black back draw to earn a spot in the championship match. Von Stryk is scheduled to battle Amalie Davidson of UNC Asheville Sunday at 11 a.m.
Ruppert won back-to-back matches in the white back draw to setup a title match Sunday at 10 a.m. against Katie Polk of Chattanooga. Ruppert opened the day with a 0-6, 6-4, 6-3 come-from-behind win over fourth-seeded Lauren Reid of Wofford before besting Brooke Graham of Wofford 6-1, 6-2 in the semifinals.
