Rojas Advances to Semifinals at Upstate Fall Classic

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate sophomore Talia Rojas won in straight sets to advance to Saturday's round of 16 beginning at 9 a.m.
Rojas defeated Othilia Lindqvist of Wofford by a score of 6-4, 6-2, setting up a meeting with Christina Limantoro of Presbyterian College tomorrow morning. Rojas was the only Spartan to advance as Hannah Al-Sakati, Julie Bell, Lauren Byars, Ana-Sofia Camberos, Isabel von Stryk and Maria Tonani all dropped their first-round matches.
The duo of Rojas and von Stryk cruised into the quarterfinals in doubles play as the duo claimed an 8-2 victory over Caitlyn Lawrence and Julie Manine of USC Aiken. The Spartan pair will face Wofford's duo of Sarah Evans/Audrey Coventry at 2 p.m. Saturday.
