No. 23 Upstate Closes Out the Regular Season at A-Sun Rival ETSU

Spartanburg, S.C. – The 23rd-ranked USC Upstate softball team will close out the regular season when it travels to Johnson City, Tenn., to take on A-Sun rival ETSU in a three-game league series Saturday and Sunday at Betty Basler Field. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1:00 p.m., while Sunday's single game also starts at 1:00.

The series will be the final league series between Upstate and ETSU with the Buccaneers heading off to the Southern Conference at the conclusion of the 2013-14 athletic year.

Upstate enters the series with a 41-5 overall record and a 19-2 mark in the A-Sun. The Spartans have already clinched the regular season conference championship and the No. 1 seed in next week's A-Sun Tournament. Upstate has played just two games in the last 19 days due to final exams and cancellations because of rain. ETSU enters the weekend with a 20-29 overall record and a 7-15 mark in the A-Sun. The Spartans and Buccaneers have played 13 times in the history of the series with Upstate owning a 9-4 lead.
