Robinson Named College Sports Madness A-Sun Player of the Week

Spartanburg, S.C. ? A day after being named the A-Sun Player of the Week for the second time this season, USC Upstate freshman Shellie Robinson has been named the league?s Player of the Week by collegesportsmadness.com.

Robinson?s selection as CSM?s A-Sun Player of the Week is the first ever for an Upstate softball player. CSM is a national website aimed at promoting college athletics.

Robinson earned the honor after turning in a dominant performance in a doubleheader sweep at Appalachian State last week, the only two games Upstate played during the week. She finished the doubleheader 7-for-9 with three home runs, four RBIs and three runs. She had a slugging percentage of 1.778 and was flawless in the outfield in four chances.

Robinson, who was named the A-Sun Player of the Week on Feb. 27, currently leads Upstate with a .430 batting average, 11 home runs, 29 runs and an .872 slugging percentage.
