Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate senior student-athlete Nicki Krejci was named to the CoSIDA Academic-All District 4 First Team, the College Sports Information Directors Association announced today. She is the first Upstate women's soccer student-athlete to be named to the Academic All-District Team during the Division I era and is the second Spartan to earn Academic All-District honors, joining Thea Moen in 2001.
Krejci is a Special Education major with a 3.89 GPA. She completed her career with 65 games played and 57 starts. Krejci is Upstate's Division I era record holder with eight assists and is tied for third in program history. In 2017, Krejci started all 16 games that she played in with one assist, four shots and 1,453 minutes played.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically and have a 3.30 cumulative grade point average. As a member of the First Team, Krejci advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in December. Krejci and Florida Gulf Coast's Ashley Parks are the lone ASUN representatives on the District 4 team, which consists of schools in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and South Carolina.
