Spartanburg, S.C. –Winners of two of its last three matches, the USC Upstate women's soccer team returns home for the first time in 33 days when it plays host to both Kennesaw State and Mercer this weekend from County University Soccer Stadium.

The Spartans will open the weekend Friday evening at 7 p.m. against Kennesaw State and wrap up play Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Mercer. Admission to both games is free.

Upstate enters the weekend with a 3-5-2 overall record and an 0-1-0 mark in conference play following its setback last Saturday at ETSU. In that game, sophomore midfielder Haley Gethin picked up her team-leading second goal of the season, while freshman Mollie Waters registered an assist on the play and is now tied for the team lead with two helpers.

Kennesaw State (5-5-0, 2-0-0) arrives in Spartanburg riding a three-game winning streak following league wins over Lipscomb and Northern Kentucky last weekend. During the winning streak, Kennesaw State has outscored its opponents 6-1.

Mercer (6-5-1, 1-1-0) has won two of its last three games, but ended last week with a 2-1 home loss to Lipscomb. The Bears open play Friday at ETSU before facing the Spartans on Sunday. Mercer leads the A-Sun in points (86), goals (29) and assists (28).
