Upstate Men’s Tennis Travels to Gardner-Webb Friday

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's tennis team continues its five-match road trip to start the season when it travels to Boiling Springs, N.C., Friday to take on Gardner-Webb at 2 p.m. from the Webb Tennis Complex.

Upstate last competed Jan. 20 when it suffered a 5-2 loss at No. 62 Georgia State. Despite the loss, Gonzalo Blanco earned a singles victory from the No. 2 position, while Jamie Yates was victorious from the No. 5 position.

Gardner-Webb will make its first appearance at home when it hosts the Spartans. The Bulldogs are 0-1 on the season after losing 7-0 at No. 23 Clemson Jan. 19. The Spartans have enjoyed a great deal of success when facing Gardner-Webb, winning the last four meetings between the two schools.
