Minors Named to Bermuda Senior Men’s National Team

Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate midfielder/defender Calon Minors is set to represent his country this week as the rising senior has been named to the Bermuda Senior Men's National Team and will face Grenada in an international match.

Bermuda and Grenanda are scheduled for a training match on June 8 before the international match on June 10 at the Grenada National Stadium in St. George's, Grenada.

"It's an honor to be chosen to represent my country," Minors said. "It is a dream of every kid to do this and now that I've made this dream come true I'm very grateful. I'm still young so I am here trying to enjoy the experience and learn valuable lessons."

"This is a tremendous accomplishment for Calon, and I am very proud of him," said Upstate head coach Greg Hooks. "One of the greatest honors for a player is to be chosen to represent his country, and I commend Calon for being selected to Bermuda's national team. Calon has worked very hard since he has been at Upstate, and it's great to see that his efforts have resulted in his selection to Bermuda's national team."

Minors, a native of Hamilton, Bermuda, has started in 35 of the 36 games he has appeared in during his career. He has registered five career points on five assists, and attempted 20 shots including seven on-goal.

Last season, he was fifth in the ASUN with a team-leading four assists after starting in all 13 games.
