Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate standout Dave Musambi leads the Atlantic Sun Conference in scoring in the most updated statistical report for men's soccer issued by the conference heading into this week's competition.
Musambi has been Upstate's main scoring threat this season and is tied atop the A-Sun with nine points on four goals and an assist. He is tied for the top spot with Lipscomb's Omar Djabi. Musambi, though, holds the top spot all by himself in points per game at 1.80, which also ranks 21st in the nation.
In addition to his points lead, Musambi also leads the A-Sun with 22 shots and is second with 4.40 shots per game. He is tied for the league lead with four other players with four goals on the season, while his 0.80 goals per game average is the top figure in the A-Sun. He ranks 18th in the nation in goals per game.
Upstate has scored in four of its five matches this season and Musambi has scored a goal in each of the four matches, also adding an assist along the way.
Upstate heads to Clemson to close out the non-conference portion of its schedule Tuesday night at 7:00 at Riggs Field.
