Despite getting career-highs in scoring out of Nick Schneiders and Pat Posey, USC Upstate could not come all the back from a 17-point second half deficit as Jacksonville held off the Spartans for a 79-69 victory in A-Sun men's basketball action in the Hodge Center Monday night.

USC Upstate makes a quick turnaround from its 69-64 victory over North Florida Saturday afternoon to face A-Sun foe Jacksonville Monday night at 7:30 in the Hodge Center in Spartanburg. The game marks the Spartans' second-straight home game after playing 10 of its first 11 games on the road. Upstate enters the game with a 2-10 overall record and a 1-2 mark in the A-Sun. Jacksonville, following its thrilling 84-82 loss at ETSU Saturday, comes into the game with a 3-8 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the conference. The game will be a contrast between Jacksonville's high-scoring offense and Upstate's gritty, low-scoring and possession-driven offensive attack.

USC Upstate heads back to the court Saturday after a 10-day break from competition during the Holidays, playing host to North Florida Saturday in the Spartans' A-Sun home opener. Upstate enters the game having won one of its last two games and is 1-10 overall and 0-2 in the league. North Florida is 2-10 overall and 0-2 in the conference. The winner of Saturday's game will get its first A-Sun win of the year.

Upstate enters the game with an 0-9 record. Southern enters the game with an 0-10 record following its 83-46 loss at DePaul Friday night in Chicago. Liberty enters the final two games with a 7-4 record following its 73-70 loss at Saint Louis Friday night. Northern Colorado stands 3-7 after falling at San Jose State, 89-78, Saturday evening.
